Frances Sherratt
Fran is an ambitious student who is currently pursuing her PhD in Neuroscience at Carleton University under the supervision of Dr. Robyn McQuaid and Dr. Alfonzo Abizaid (Carleton University). Her project focuses on investigating the differences between depressive symptom clusters across a spectrum of biological and psychosocial factors, with a particular focus on inflammation and the inflammatory immune system.
Fran obtained her Bachelor of Science Honours in Neuroscience and Mental Health at Carleton University. In her 4th year, Fran completed her Honours thesis with Dr. Abizaid by exploring the mechanisms that govern foraging behaviours in mice, and how these behaviours relate to anxiety-like states.

Outside of school, Fran is diligently training for endurance events like marathons and Ironman Triathalons, and watches the Toronto Maple Leafs anytime she can.
